From the Artists:

The Click’s mission is to contribute to the consistent creation, performance, and growth of contemporary dance in both professional and educational spaces across Massachusetts. We challenge, uplift, and connect communities by offering a plethora of opportunities for people to engage with contemporary dance practices as both students and spectators. Through our educational initiatives and performance projects, we foster collective creative spaces rooted in equality, exploration and social relevance. Whenever possible, we utilize physically accessible spaces and apply sliding scale pricing to our offerings to further this mission. Attempting to achieve all of this within the confines of capitalism and in a country with ever shrinking opportunities for significant grant support from foundations and the government is... a challenge. Donations of any amount go a LONG way to helping us sustain our practices. Thank you for keeping us clicking!

Spearheaded in 2021, The Click is an experiment in organization, connection, and collaboration among a group of like-minded creative spirits living, making, teaching, and studying in the Greater Boston area. We are a group of dancers whose primary medium of physical expression is through contemporary forms but who dabble and play in many modes of creativity. Whether we spend our time sliding along the marley of a dance studio, weaving fibers, painting, or writing poetry, we are each deeply invested in answering the universally complex question that might play across your mind as well: who am I and what am I doing here?

The Click contributes to the consistent presence of creativity in Boston and beyond by: educating pre-professional youth dancers, professional adult dancers, and the dance-curious of any age; performing original creations several times a year at a variety of venues - both traditional and non-traditional - across Massachusetts, New England, and beyond; and investing in the curiosity of those new to dance and/or new to the Boston area by maintaining an open, inclusive, and accessible community of individuals eager and enthusiastic to share resources, feedback, tips and tricks, or a simple hello.

Since its inception, The Click has maintained multiple weekly drop-in classes for a variety of levels, in addition to special workshops and events geared toward community engagement in relation to our professional projects. The Click has held residencies at The Foundry through the Anchor Partner program and at The Dance Complex through the BLOOM Residency program, and has partnered with private youth studios, Boston-area elementary schools, senior centers, and more to bring our unique education programs to a variety of populations. The Click has been awarded grants and other recognition from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, The Boston Foundation, the New England Foundation for the Arts, the Cambridge Community Foundation, and a number of local cultural councils in the Boston area.
