From the Artist:

Created by Ava D’Eon (Boston-based dancer and choreographer), Of Petals and Fire is an evening-length dance performance exploring the fierce, funny, and complex terrain of womanhood, femininity, and autonomy.

This collection of work is rooted in a fierce reclamation of identity through the lens of the Wild Woman—instinctual, intuitive, and deeply connected to nature’s rhythms. The choreography draws from somatic and contemporary dance practices, channeling raw physicality alongside quiet, reflective moments where vulnerability is not a weakness but a doorway to deeper strength. In this work, the Wild Woman is not just untamed; she is also tender—finding clarity and courage in stillness, in breath, and in the act of listening inward. Of Petals and Fire lives in the space between ferocity and fragility, reminding us that true power lies in honoring both.

Premiering at the Providence Fringe Festival, Of Petals and Fire invites audiences into a communal space of reflection, where boldness and vulnerability coexist, and where the quiet power within us is given full permission to speak, move, and burn brightly.
